April 30, 2026, 7:00 pm, Odd Fellows Hall over the Bangor Historical Museum. Doors to the Museum open at 6:00 pm.
Jill Newton will be our speaker for our Annual Meeting. She will speak about her many trips to Africa and Tanzania. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Jill Newton was raised in Bangor and graduated from Bangor High School in 1983. She attended Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor’s in math education in 1987 and a PhD in 2008. She has been a professor at Purdue University since 2008 and began leading a study abroad program to Tanzania in 2010.
In this presentation, Jill will share her love for Tanzania (her home away from home) through descriptions of Tanzanian history, culture, geography, and, of course, highlights from safari (including lots of pictures). Jill now leads friends and family safari trips to Tanzania and will provide brief information about this opportunity at the end of the presentation.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Come and enjoy an evening with the membership.
