Honor a Hero
Veterans Memorial Park stands as a symbol of our community’s gratitude for the men and women who have proudly served our nation. It is a place where residents gather to honor our veterans on Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and throughout the year.
The City of Bangor is pleased to announce the Honor a Hero Campaign, a community fundraising initiative to install a new white vinyl memorial fence around Veterans Memorial Park. This project will enhance the beauty of the park, provide a respectful backdrop for the memorial, and create a lasting tribute to those who have served our country.
Rather than using taxpayer dollars, our goal is to complete this project entirely through the generosity of our community. Thanks to contractor estimates already received, we have established a fundraising goal of $5,000 to make this project a reality.
Enclosed you will find information about the campaign, available sponsorship opportunities, and a donation form. Whether your gift is made in honor of a veteran, in memory of a loved one, on behalf of your family or business, or simply to support this meaningful project, every contribution will help create a lasting legacy for Bangor.
If the campaign exceeds the amount needed to complete the fence project, any remaining funds will be dedicated exclusively to future improvements within Veterans Memorial Park, ensuring your donation continues to benefit this special place for years to come.
