Full-Time Police Officer

The Bangor Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer. The City of Bangor is located in Southwest Michigan and only 10 miles away from the beaches of Lake Michigan. Bangor has approximately 2,000-year-round residents and hosts the travel corridor between Kalamazoo and South Haven where thousands of people travel through each year. The Bangor Police Department’s mission is to provide a safe and orderly community for residents and visitors by protecting life, liberty, and property through the use of proactive policing and crime prevention.

The minimum requirements for employment are:

  • High School graduate or G.E.D. for recruit candidates.
  • Minimum of an associate’s degree for non-recruit candidates.
  • No felony convictions; misdemeanors will be considered on a case-by- case basis.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must meet M.C.O.L.E.S criteria.
  • U.S. citizen.
  • Successfully complete all phases of the selection process.

  • Pay $25.50per hour up to $32.50per hour.
